The Magnificent Seven!
On Sunday 7th December, twenty-eight Dojo members travelled to Nottingham for a great day of Karate at the JKS England Christmas course. The course instructors were Alan Campbell Sensei 8th Dan, Nick Heald Sensei 7th Dan and Matt Price Sensei 7th Dan. The training was superb and well done to all that attended. Putting yourself next to members from other Dojos around the country as a benchmark is highly recommended. Course participants pictured below with course instructors.
Following the grading was a Shodan (First-level) Dan grading in front of a seven-strong JKS England grading panel. I am so proud to announce Seven Walsall members achieved their black belts! A massive congratulations to:
Jasmine Wozniak-Khakh, Liam Peck, Norah Nabil, Taylor Holloway, Adam Gallimore, Luis Crooks, Zaine Chowdhury.
A massive congratulations to all. This is recognition of years of never giving up and the continuous striving for personal growth and development even when the times are challenging and its easier to quit! Two of the seven were taking the exam for a second time, and one had had to do an element of the exam three times. Success in these cases is even more satisfying to witness. Yesterday all seven gave very strong performances indeed.
